Professor Frank Kirchhoff is a renowned neuroscientist and molecular physiologist. He serves as a Full Professor at the University of Saarland in Homburg, Germany, and heads the Molecular Physiology Department at the Center for Integrative Physiology and Molecular Medicine (CIPMM). He is co-founder and speaker of the Center for Gender-specific Biology and Medicine at the Medical Faculty (University of Saarland). His research focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurons and glial cells in the central nervous system. With more than 130 publications Frank Kirchhoff has an H-factor of 57, WoS ResearcherID: B-9335-2008, ORCID 0000-0002-2324-2761. In 2023, Kirchhoff received the Health Prize of the Saarland Medical Association. He is President of the German Neuroscience Society, board member of the German Brain Council and member of the Academia Europaea. He coordinated large research networks at the national and European level.
