Dr. Yu obtained Medical Diploma in 1977 in Medical College of Xuzhou, Medical Master Degree in 1982 in Medical College of Suzhou, Doctor Degree for Scientiarum Humanarum (D.Sc.H.) in 1989 at University of Heidelberg, F.R.G. In 1998 Dr. Yu was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and in 2004 an Associated Professor at the Florida State University. Presently, he is appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physiology and Neurobiology, Medical College of Soochow University. His ongoing  research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of  neuronal functions.
