Yong Gu, born in 1980, was the Hong Kong University PhD (graduated in September 2013). He has graduated from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinical in 2004, receiving Professional Bachelor Degree in medicine, graduated from the Institute of Radiation Medicine, Academy of Military University for MSC on Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2007. After graduating, he had study protein structural biology in the institute of life sciences in Beijing and in the department of biochemistry, Hong Kong science and technology university. He has just finished studied neurobiology phD in Hong Kong from the tutor, Professor Shen Jiangang from 2009, and receiving funded project to visit to Liu Jian lab in the United States University in March 2011-2012. At present, the main research directions include the molecular mechanisms of blood-brain barrier damage in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, Chinese medicine monomer brain membrane protein involved in protection and antioxidant effects, etc. He has published 14 articles, an English treatise, 3 conference abstracts in J Neurochem, Proteomics and other magazines.
